Philippine Cockfighting International, Inc.
Philippine Cockfighting International, Inc. was incorporated in June 2018 for the primary purpose of live streaming high quality cockfights abroad without taking on bets. The main proponent of this is Jose G. Ricafort whose lifelong passion since childhood is cockfighting.
Mr. Ricafort along with reputable cockfighting enthusiasts formed PCII in order to live stream cockfights to duly registered establishments outside of the Philippines.
PCII’s thrust is to maintain fairness and integrity of cockfighting as presented to the outside world. Thus PCII pursued it’s license for this purpose with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) to ensure that all is above board for all concerned.
PCII’s main Mission is, “Bringing the Philippine Cockfigting Heritage to the World” and it plans to do this with the seal of responsible gaming with the guidance of PAGCOR.
Cockfighting in the Philippines
Cockfighting has been in existence for more than 6,000 years in various parts of the world. Countries like Cuba, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, India, Indonesia, China, Japan and Central America among others have recorded history of cockfighting. The popularity of this sport has no boundaries.
In recent years however, there have been restrictions based on laws and animal rights and religion that have banned the sports in some countries. For enthusiasts in places where cockfighting has been outlawed, the Internet will probably have to feed their appetite for it. It is a good thing that for these people, the Internet is available to satisfy their interest in cockfighting.
In the Philippines, “Sabong” is a deeply rooted part of the Filipino culture. No less than Antonio Pigafetta, Magellan’s chronicler documented the existence of what they know as modern day cockfighting in the Philippine Islands as early as 1521. Every city in this country has at least one cockpit. It is a daily event for many Filipinos in various parts of the country.
“Sabong” in the Philippines is a deeply rooted part of the Filipino culture. It shows no signs of slowing down as in other parts of the world. In fact it shows that the Filipinos love for “sabong” continues to grow.
As “sabong” is popular in all walks of life, it has developed into an endless quest for fighting superiority in style and durability. The endless search for the right breed never ends. The regional divergence of different methods of breeding and and training makes the challenge to become a champion thrilling. Because of these, there is an abundance of exciting sabong matches to be filmed. This will allow PCII the opportunity to package and stream a diversity of first class fights from reputable and fully licensed cockpits nationwide.
